Thank you for your interest in San Miguel Search and Rescue. The purpose of the established 501(c)(3) is to process donation funds in order to serve the mission of the San Miguel Sheriff’s Office in activities related to search and rescue efforts.
Sheriff’s Office activities include the desire to maintain an active group of trained volunteers who are equipped for backcountry search and rescue missions, to promote safety in backcountry and mountain recreation and to assist in emergencies where search and rescue services are needed. We hope you don't need our services but we will be here if you do.
San Miguel Search and Rescue (SAR) covers over 1,200 square miles, ranging from high desert (5,000 ft) to high alpine (14,000 ft). SAR covers everything from lost hikers, technical rock rescues, helicopter extractions and avalanche rescues. For information on joining the SAR team please email us.

Colorado residents and visitors are well served by dedicated non-paid professional search and rescue teams. By purchasing a CORSAR Card, you are contributing to the Search and Rescue Fund, which will reimburse teams for costs incurred across the State of Colorado.
