The San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting résumés and letters of interest for the position of deputy sheriff. Applicants must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to interact well with the public.
In addition, applicants must be able to work holidays, weekends and shift schedules and must be able to work independently and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Applicants will undergo a background check. Successful candidates may be required to live near (or relocate to) San Miguel County.
Ideal candidates will have a Colorado peace officer’s basic certification or provisional letter from the Colorado POST board; however, no experience is required.
The starting salary range is $55,244 - $59,508 annually ($26.56-$28.61 per hour) depending on experience. This career involves E911 Dispatch and Corrections duties, including court security, transports, jail supervision and booking and release of detainees.
Applicants must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have strong written and verbal communication skills. In addition, applicants must be able to work holidays, weekends and shift schedules. Applicants will undergo a background check.
