San Miguel County has partnered with Bruin Waste as a way to bring easy composting to YOU. Businesses and residents alike can now sign up to be a part of our composting pilot program. Each week we will pick up compost as a way to reduce our community's overall waste.

Pilot Program Mission

To promote sustainable waste management, soil health, and community engagement through the establishment of a comprehensive composting program in San Miguel County. Our aim is to reduce landfill waste, create high-quality compost, and educate and inspire individuals to embrace environmentally conscious practices.

How It Works/ Accepted Materials 

We give you a bucket and a scheduled day for pickup.

You put organic matter into the bucket. Food scraps, yard waste, paper products. Here's a complete list of accepted materials.
