Coronavirus Public Health Briefing Next Tuesday

(March 6, 2020) -- San Miguel County, CO --  San Miguel County health officials will conduct a COVID-19 (coronavirus) briefing and Q&A during the next Telluride Town Council Meeting, Tuesday March 10th, 10:30 am-noon at Rebekah Hall. To provide county-wide access, the meeting will carried live on KOTO 91.7fm and available for online streaming.

The panel will include County Medical Officer Dr. Sharon Grundy, County Public Health Director Grace Franklin, Director of TMC Director of Trauma and Emergency Service, Dr. Diana Koelliker, and Sheriff Bill Masters. 

Please email your questions to Tiffany Kavanaugh by Monday at 4pm at tkavanaugh@telluride-co.gov, and we will answer as many as time permits.

Also next week, county officials including Dr. Grundy, Dr. Koelliker, and Sheriff Masters will be meeting to continue preparedness efforts for the health and safety of our county citizens and its visitors. Dr. Grundy said, “This is a dynamic situation that is rapidly changing and I have confidence that our team and our partners will navigate efficiently and effectively.”

The group will then brief the larger group of county officials including Telluride and Norwood School Districts, local law enforcement agencies, and healthcare and EMS providers, other county representatives before the end of next week.

In other developments:

  • County health officers met today to finalize coronavirus testing protocols for healthcare providers to help ensure safety and containment. 

  • Our county coronavirus information webpage has been updated to include Spanish translation for our news releases.
