  1. Ilium Observation Deck Reservation Form

    The Ilium Deck located near the intersection of Ilium Road and Sunshine Mesa Road, along the south fork of the San Miguel River, may be reserved for weddings and other small events. 

    • The Ilium Deck may be reserved for events up to 25 people. 
    • There is no use fee, but a refundable $100 damage deposit is required with each request. 
    • Reservation requests must be made at least one week in advance of the requested date. 
    • Event organizer is required to rent a portable toilet for reservations exceeding 2 hours. 

    Please submit this form electronically, email a copy to yourself, print and mail your deposit to the Parks & Open Space Department, P.O. Box 1170, Telluride, CO 81435.

  3. Terms & Conditions

    ● Dogs must be restrained or on strict voice command and in sight of owner at all times. Please clean up after your pet.

    ● Motorized vehicles are not permitted.

    ● Fires, drones, loud music, fireworks or other noise makers are not permitted.

    ● Use is non-exclusive and it is understood that the Coal Chutes Loop Trail runs adjacent to this site.

    ● Please plan to park along Sunshine Mesa Road, in the County parking area on the other side of the river or across the street near the Vance Junction trailhead and carry your food, drink and equipment out to the Ilium Deck.

    ● Do not trespass on private property. Industrial or commercial use is not permitted.

    ● Please pack it in and pack it out. There aren’t any trash bins and/or bathrooms on site.

    ● Event organizer must rent a portable toilet for any reservation over 2 hours.

    ● The event organizer and its participants are responsible for all clean up after their use.

    ● Any clean-up time provided by County staff will be billed to the event organizer at the rate of $50 per hour.

    ● The refundable $100 damage deposit must be paid in advance. Checks payable to “SAN MIGUEL COUNTY”

    ● Violation of any of these conditions may result in the cancellation of your event at the County’s discretion.

  4. Reservation agreement

    I have read, understand and agree to all the terms stated above. I understand this form is only a request for use of the Ilium Deck. I will be responsible for any damages or complaints. I will not hold San Miguel County liable for any injury or property loss as the result of my reservation.
